Introducing Cathy Liu, a keen and focused community friend. Fun fact, I was once her community manager. I know, what a small world but Cathy kept me on my toes with her insights and questions. Her advice is concise but worth thinking about to ensure your community is successful.
Cathy’s Advice:
“Being flexible [is important] and [ensure you’re] signing up for opportunities that demonstrate your community's value.”
We all know flexibility is important but that last part is the golden nugget of wisdom. In corporations, there are a lot of voices to be heard and community is but one. It’s part of a community professional’s role to identify and demonstrate the business value and develop the correct internal relationships to support the community. If your voice gets lost internally, the community loses out. Just don’t take on multiple disconnected things. Stay strategic, my friends.
